Duxbury Networking has released a wireless uplink gateway designed to facilitate multimedia content sharing.
The ZTE H168N WirelessVDSL2 Uplink Gateway is a Fast Ethernet enabled 4-port switch which is supplied with a USB 2.0 port for shared storage or the use of a 3G dongle.
It includes a built-in DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) digital media server to enable the sharing of digital media between multimedia devices. Currently, almost 20 000 different devices are DLNA certified.
“The new ZTE gateway allows network operators to change topologies ‘on-the-fly’, easily extending networks beyond the reach of cables,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.
The unit also features the integration of TR-069 technologies to facilitate the automatic installation and provisioning of services. “The TR-069 protocol helps streamline and simplify the entire service life cycle of broadband devices,” adds Robb.
