According to new research by print management software and services company ThinPrint, the paperless office is still just a pipe dream.ThinPrint surveyed business users in over 30 industries on their needs and challenges relating to printing. According to the research, only 4,5% of respondents said they had a paperless office.
While 82,6% said printing is an important cost factor, 65% do not use any software to analyse print costs. The vast majority of respondents are not brand loyal, however, as 68,1% use printers from different manufacturers. For the printers that are in use, one in five respondents require a stapling or perforation function and 50% stated it is important to have the ability to print multiple pages per sheet.
One huge opportunity revolves around mobile printing. While 70% of survey respondents work with smartphones and tablets, almost three-quarters are unable to print at their workstation using these mobile devices.
