Envelope industry mourns Barbara Wessner

Barbara Wessner, an iconic figure in the German envelope industry, passed away on 29 November after a long illness.
After acquiring the FH Schmidt envelope and paper articles business started by her grandfather in 1881, Wessner modernised the business and, with the support of her friend and mentor Edlef Bartl, became an important member of the Mayer-Kuvert Network.

A strong supporter of the German envelope association (VDBF), she spent many years on the board and was Chairwoman for six years between 2008 and 2014.
