The Boss of the Year Leadership Award launches its call for Nominations this week and is calling on working citizens at small or large organisations to nominate a boss who is worthy of recognition by this annual national Award.
Nominations forms are easily available both online or on email, and we need to know who the good bosses are so that they can be known and rewarded.
Good bosses can be found in private enterprise as well as government or civic institutions, but we need to know who they are. South Africa, like most nations worldwide, is crying out for good leadership and by finding role models a culture of good leadership can grow and spread.
Says Ornella Trinco, Chair of the Awards committee: “Good workplace leaders can be found in major cities or in small towns – they can be CEOs or managers; their designation is not what counts, but rather how they treat their people and build working environments that are sensitive to people’s wellbeing. But we are sometimes guilty of making of more noise over poor leadership rather than about pockets of good leadership. This is essentially why this leadership award Boss of the Year is so critical.”
This year The Boss of the Year Leadership Awards celebrates its 25th anniversary – milestone which indicates that it is recognised as a leading and much needed national initiative. This award has always been recognised for its role in humanising the workplace as enlightened leadership becomes a prerequisite for success both in large and small firms; from top executives and middle-management to team leaders on the ground.
Closing date for this year’s nominations is Monday 14 July 2014. The nomination form is on www.bossoftheyear.co.za website or call 011 616 7401 for the form if you cannot access the internet.
